Defective toilet from manufacturers
Bought 2 new toilets from Lowe's, installed them and had a flood in 2 parts of my house!!! Manufacturing crack in the base caused the leak and you can see the defect clearly in both which are identified!
Can't get American standard to answer their phone!!!

Verified Reviewer |American Standard is not American at all, china garbage
Skip their whole line & wait for the industry to renew the current style that everyone has, also stop manufacturing poor quality junk that only lasts a very, very short time. There is no need to require a buyer /end user to purchase another similar product to only replace what was new a short time ago.
This sort of business practice is bad for everyone including the environment. Just take the fuel involved in transportation alone.
Made for a midget.Within 8 years these seats have shrunk by 25%, because they are not made for normal sized people. The one sold by Lowes was used, re-boxed with the hardware in a unsealed baggie, on top of this, the seat is nowhere near as wide as the old one, even though it is the correct design (extended). 3/4 of an inch inside each bowl edge. To even top this off, the seat when tightened flexes so bad that the seat itself slides inside the bowel.
I an 200 lbs, wife 110. Happened to both of us. Complete china junk.
Well done murdering the "American" name in American Standard, never again. This is simply another crime from some company that sold out to china...
- Dupe customers with their old namesake
- Just another sucker taken in by more & more china junk
Preferred solution: $200 dollars for time & gas waisted
User's recommendation: Sue the company for costs
My walk in Liberation Tub
We had this tub installed four years ago so that would be in 21. Since that time we have had issue after issue.
First the handles for the faucets, the screw in the hot water faucet was stripped and kept falling off and now I have a bunch of big dents in the bottom of my tub. The caulking was terrible and weve had to have it replaced three times, the handle on the door that seals it shut now has a broken screw and water is leaking all over the floor under the tub. So now it cant even be used as a tub only a shower. I have called customer service about this issue.
They told me that they would have a service technician contact me and set up a time within 1 to 3 days. Its been two weeks now and we still have not heard anything back. This was the biggest mistake we made.
I would never buy anything from American Standard again. Tracey!
User's recommendation: Do not recommend at all
We have not gotten our walk in tjub fixed in over 8 months.
Technician broke door and we cannot use it for a bath. Numerous calls have been made and no technician has resolved this problem. In addition, lights have not worked either Would never recommend this company!
User's recommendation: Avoid American Standard
Warranty is a joke. No good!!!!
Honor warranty
Ridiculous requirements to prove I bought this toilet!! I will buy another brand after this.
Your warranty is useless when you make requirements that are impossible. Lifetime warranty and you want proof I bought t is toilet.
Its in my house!! How did I get it stupid??
User's recommendation: Buy different brand
I bought a american standard toilet in2017 from a big box store ,I definitely registered it with them .The bowl developed several hair line cracks.Contacted American standard and amazingly no record.
I contacted them and was told without a receipt there is no warranty. Even though I registered it with them and sent them the item number.
I would NEVER recommend this brand. Lousy customer service and even worse quality control .
User's recommendation: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH AMERICAN STANDARD THEY SHOULD GO OUT OF BUSINESS OR AT LEAST REMOVE AMERICAN FROM THE NAME.

Verified ReviewerButchered Install
Bathroom walls all marked for install and also marred from bringing equipment into bathroom I sent photos as instructed twice and never heard back. I just discovered that your installers cut the wire to one of my outside plugs to use for the tub power source.
my out of pocket expense is over $600. I can't get anyone to return my calls so I give up. But what I will do is to warn people about your horrible install and customer service. I live in a retirement community of about 700 homes.
The community newsletter contains a section for info on both good and bad experiences residents have with products and services. I will certainly let mine be known

Verified ReviewerSheety Toilets
What does American Standard stand for? It stands for low quality toilets, produced without adherence to standards of quality control.
It stands for a toilet with only one job, that it can not preform. American Standard stands for lies and deception of consumers, with claims like: American Standard features a 4-inch flush valve, the largest in the industry, to produce a fast, powerful flush that effectively clears the bowl, when this toilets flush valve is actually 3 inches in diameter, just like other toilets, selling for half the price of the American Standard. Four inch valves do not exist, unless American Standard is misrepresenting their product by measuring the outer diameter of the flush valve assembly, instead of the inner diameter, as measured by all other manufacturers in the industry. The toilet not only does not perform its only designated function, but the seat, that is included with the toilet, is uncomfortable and its slow close function is also its slow lift function, that does not stay up when opened.
American Standard claims that their toilets will flush a bucket of golf balls. But in reality they will not even flush down a small amount of sheet. Perhaps if you what to flush golf balls, you should purchase an American Standard toilet. But if you need a toilet to eliminate human bowel movements, then purchase a different brand.
You can, as I did, purchase a toilet that performs much better in every way of the American Standard toilet for half the price and not be fulled by American Standard deceptions. I replaced the American Standard Champion 4 toilet, that I overpaid for, with a cheep brand and am much happier.

Verified ReviewerThe worst toilet.
American Standard Champion 4 Toilet-To-Go ADA Compliant 1.28 gal White Round Complete Toilet
Price: $229.99, is being advertised as being best flusher, but that is a load of sheet. This is the worst flushing toilet that I have ever used.
It will not flush the amount and consistency of waist that other, cheaper, off brand toilets will. It is a waist of your money and time.
With American Standard toilets, you can't even flush your money down the toilet, it will plug up. Avoid at all cost.

Verified ReviewerIncredibly poor customer service
Tried to order a warranty cartridge 3 weeks ago. After requesting a copy of receipt, then a week later requesting a picture, then sending an invoice, they still show the part hasnt shipped. I had a similar claim with Moen a couple weeks back and they couldnt have been more accomodating, no receipt, no picture, no cheek swab, no fingerprints.
User's recommendation: Avoid American Standard, buy Moen

Verified ReviewerDo not use for shower renovation
Contacted my salesman, American standard and lixil. No help at all. Unscrupulous company.
I contracted with them for nearly $16,000; they sent subcontractors, as they do not have regular employees doing their work. These two men broke my hot water line, causing 5000 gallons of water to come out of my house onto my neighbor's property, leaving me without hot water for over five days, and costing me an additional $6000 in repairs. They told me it was not their problem since it was not directly in the shower. I had to hire a company to find the leak, another to repair it.
The company who repaired it said the leak was a direct result of the shower renovation. American Standard had me send paperwork, bills, and emails to two separate divisions of their company; in essence, they gave me the runaround. After all that work that I, a senior citizen, using a walker because of hip replacements, had to do, they denied my request for remuneration for the additional money. After reading reviews on other sites from other people, I realize I made a big mistake in choosing this company.
I am sending this out so you will think twice about using American Standard for any shower renovation. They are totally unscrupulous.
- But unfortunately
- Was very helpful in trying to get me a resolution
- Ignored him also
- Use subcontractors
- Men are not professional
- Do not stand behind their work
Preferred solution: Price reduction

Verified ReviewerRUN, DO NOT BUY!
I wish I had seen this website before I decided to make a purchase from this POS company. Their walk-in tub is completely defective.
Their repair team is a clown show. I have not had this tub for a year and two things have already broken. To get someone out here to fix it in a timely manner is a joke, I laugh until I cry, I hate having to depend on someone who does not care. I have someone living here with a disability due to MS and a mother who is 77 years old and on dialysis.
Do you think they care even one bit about people's hardships? Uh... no! Not to mention, we were sold a permanent shower head, which is a product that does not even exist, as well as issues with our hot water running out before the tub is even filled.
Oh, and did I mention we now have leaks from the tub causing water stains on our ceiling in a furnished basement? Do yourself a favor, do not purchase anything from this company.
I am so unsatisfied with their product, I am thinking of getting it removed altogether and getting something more beneficial put in, which means 22K, flushed right down the toilet. And I see their toilets do not flush right either, how fitting!
- Everything about this company is poor
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY
Website problems
I thought it may be helpful to share some experiences I've had using the website. The product "sort by" option ($ Low to High) displays results incorrectly.
Compared to most comparable, websites all pages load unusually slow. However, most challenging, is product searching in general. For example, I searched for 1.28 GPF toilets and one of the product the search returned was a toilet numbered 251****S.020. I then typed that number, by itself in the product, parts etc.
Search field. The search returned "No results found". Also, this has happened when I've searched part numbers, printed on your own packaging, of products purchased from retailers.
I don't write software code, but it seems your product databases are not communicating with each other as intended. I recognize the site is huge, but feel a software update would be both appreciated by customers and benefit business, as well.

Verified Reviewer |Toilet flushing strange
Want to know how to get a new touchless valve? The toilet was working fine, but it started flushing on its own.
I changed the batteries and it helped a little. I can be in my bedroom and hear it flush.
I really like the touchless feature when it works properly. When I'm using a public restroom, it amazes me how many men I see that don't wash their hands.
- I like many american standard products and often recommend
- I not able to find replacement parts
Preferred solution: A new sensor that doesn’t flush on it’s own.
About
American Standard Brands was formed in February of 2008 as the result of the merger of 3 companies: American Standard Americas, Crane Plumbing, and Eljer. Before American Standard, there was the Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company, founded in 1875. Standard Sanitary pioneered many of the plumbing product improvements introduced in the early part of this century including the one-piece toilet, built-in tubs, combination faucets (which mix hot and cold water to deliver tempered water) and tarnish-proof, corrosion-proof chrome finishes for brass fittings.
By 1929, American Standard had become the world's largest producer of bathroom fixtures. The company offers a broad range of bath and kitchen products.
American Standard is ranked 85 out of 464 in Pools, Spas and Plumbing Supplies category

I would recommend reaching out to 855815**** for support with your toilet. You can find a 4 digit number that begins with 4 in your toilet that will identify the model.
